Cancellations 48 Hours Before Lesson Time = 100% Refund

If you cancel earlier than 48 hours before your scheduled lesson time you’ll receive an 100% refund, no questions asked.

Cancellations 48-24 Hours Before Lesson Time = 50% Refund

If you cancel later than 48 hours before, but earlier than 24 hours before your scheduled lesson time, you’ll receive a 50% refund.

Cancellations Less than 24 Hours Before Lesson time = NO Refund

If you cancel less than 24 hours before your scheduled lesson time, you WILL NOT RECIEVE A REFUND.

Customers Who Cannot Swim

All surf lesson participants must be able to swim. Refunds will NOT be given for customers who are unable to surf because they cannot swim. All bookings provide ample warning about the swimming requirement.

Young Children (<13 Years Old) Incorrectly Booked

We have a general rule that children under 13 must take private lessons. If a child under 13 is incorrectly booked on a semi-private lesson, the family will need to pay the difference for the private lesson on arrival (if we have the capacity to do so). There will be no refunds for children incorrectly booked on semi-private lessons.

Late Arrivals

Customers are expected to show up on time for their lessons. Customers who are 15-29 minutes late for their lesson will have their lesson time cut short by the late period. If a customer is 30 minutes or more late, we reserve the right to cancel the lesson. No refunds will be offered for late arrivals, regardless of circumstances.

We need to cancel lessons that are 30 minutes late or more because we have other lessons scheduled for the day, and need to keep to a schedule to make them all work.

Multi-Day Package Customers

Customers who purchase surf lesson packages (5+ lessons) have the same cancellation period as every other customers (48 hours) with ONE EXCEPTION: the cancellation period ends 48 hours before the first scheduled lesson. Lessons cannot be cancelled after the first lesson, regardless of how far away the next lesson is. Further, there will be no refunds for unused lessons. The 5-package rate relies on the purchase of a minimum of 5 lessons.

However, if a lesson is cancelled due to weather (at the sole discretion of Stoke Drift Surf School) lessons may be “banked” for a future date — or refunded to the pro-rata, non-discounted amount (how much the lessons taken would’ve costed without the discount). In other words, if less than 5 lessons are used, the refund amount will take into account the cost of the lessons taken with no discount.

No Refunds for Gift Card Purchases

We do not offer refunds on any gift card purchases, regardless of time period between the cancellation and lesson date. However, lessons purchased using a gift card can be rescheduled up to 48 hours prior to the lesson without penalty.

Cancellations Due to Extreme Weather or Lack of Waves

We will only give surf lessons if the weather is safe, and there are adequate waves. In the event that the weather causes us to cancel, we will reach out to customers to reschedule or offer full refunds for those who cannot reschedule.

We will always strive to contact customers at least an hour in advance of the lesson start time.

We alone reserve the right to determine what conditions are safe and/or doable for lessons.
